Hares are starting to come out

This time it was Lissu's turn. First search was empty. From second she got a hare - 17 km of pursuit (1,5 hours), the mean speed was 13,7 km/h (including disentangling). Her voice reached 1 km in the field and ca 700 m in forest, it was serene and sonorous. She quit the pursuit herself and returned to the hunter. From third search she finally got a hare, circuits were 1,5-2 km long, and her work absolutely beautiful. The "couple" passed the hunter three times, but a bit too far for shooting. What a great training day :).

Another Hunting Sunday

It's Lissu's turn to stay at home. Her disappointment was visible in every hair, she was shivering as a leaf when she watched Murra going. But Murra took the most of it. First pursuit after a fox with Chill, second all by himself. He lost the tracks by the river, the fox probably took a swim (despite the coldish weather). Murra's voice was very beautiful, strong and powerful, reaching to 700 meters (and part of the leaves were still on trees). In addition the population of raccoons was decreased by 2 ;).

Busy Sunday

To avoid a too long hunting day, we left Murra at home. First pursuit was after a fox. Chill came to us, Lissu continued. And then it was Lissu who was hunted - no, not by a fox, but by a big dog. Lissu didn't care about the fox any more, she ran for her life. Thanks to GPS we managed to drive in front of her and pick her up. Some time later the owner of the loose dog showed up, stating that you were lucky, my long-haired gsd tends to fight with other dogs. Duh??? What kind of person walks their evil dogs without a leash? Not to mention that they were violating the law. Well, Lissu is hardspirited and this did not effect her hunting will. Couple of dozens kilometers away she found this seasons first hare :). Hare managed to confuse Lissu, so even after third try she did not find the tracks at the loosing point.

Krae had a change in his regular Sunday schedule, as instead of his weekly school we took part of an unofficial obedience competition for puppies. Handled by Marika, to whom it was also first time at this competition. As it was Krae's first time "out" - meaning away from his regular training field and he was surroundered by many new dogs, it was no wonder that his attention was lost. Treats didn't get his attention until the end, but at one point he started showing interest in his fox (a toy, a real fox would be too complicated ;)). So we found his motivation! The final result was modest - 9th place with 71 points from 9 puppies, but as an experience this was invaluable.

Hunting!

On Sunday 2 foxes got trained - one of them got off easy, the other one had to run for his life. For 56 kilometers - according to dogs' GPS-collars.
